Question

Can you tell us what is being injected? I would like to know.

There is a study ongoing with hyaluronic acid injections into the ankle. Other things injected, long acting steroids or lidocaine.

Most of the pre-workout products contain arginine (or citrulline) to improve NO in the blood vessels. Other aminos might be there too..like glutamine.

I wonder if you are having a form of prolotherapy? This is when an irritating substance is injected into a joint, to stimulate healing.
It is less common today because of negative consequences for some patients.
