That's awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through all that...especially in the middle of a really bad flare. This is why I am always so hesitant to go to the ER for my RSD...had to just the other day because I was shaking uncontrollably from the pain. The nurse seemed like she thought that I was just there to get drugs...but the doc was one I have seen before and he was very nice and got me some stuff to help. It wasn't a big help...but enough to stop the shaking and bring my heart rate/blood pressure down to a decent level. But I know I'm always afraid that I'll be put in the kind of situation that you went through. I never tell the docs what to do even though I know what I need because of this fear...which means I probably don't get what I really need...but better than being ignored or accused of drug seeking.
I think everyone's idea about working with the hospital are good. Even if your doc won't write a note...meeting with the Risk Manager or someone like that and going over your case and your current care might help I would think. Hope you never have to go through something like this again. It's simply unacceptable.
