That is awful! I absolutely hate some ER docs!! Luckily my GP does ER calls on Thursdays and weekends and he knows if I come in it's bad. He had to do IV dilauded once with me and could see a tremendous difference in me the next week. He has MS and can relate to the whole flare thing and has been doing opiate therapy with me for about 4 months and he has my "cocktail" just fine tuned and it let's me be almost normal. The best thing that he did for me was put me on blood pressure meds because the pain makes my BP go up and down. We finally got it regulated and now I am on Norco, Xanax, Bacolfen, Celexa,Topol,and Elavil...I have been through all of the seizure meds,plus Lyrica and they just made me sleepy and confused.
