I just don't understand why they do the angio before an ultrasound. It seems to me that doing an angio which costs so much money is the second test to do AFTER doing an ultrasound which is lower in cost.
does not compute!!
just me commenting on your medical system.....but then what do I know it takes me sometimes years to see doctors here in Canada so perhaps I should keep my nose out!!!
take care

I agree with you on Dr's doing an ultrasound before an angio. If the hospital doctors had done an angiogram to discover the reason why I had subclavian vein clots I would be better of now knowing exactly what was going on and so would my doctors. I am hoping to convince my hematologist to do one as the vascular surgeon is being very "conservative" as he said to me. He is not taking into account my existing blood clotting disorder or the fact that compression of my subclavian vein is causing me to clot even with clotting meds.
I would love to get a second opinion but will try with my hematologist and if he won't I will ask my GP to refer me to another vascular surgeon who is a little more pro active
