Sally, I too found the Bipolar medications I tried to make me into a zombie. Yes, this one is different.
Seroquel XR's commercials
now say it's for someone with deep depression or some similar wording. They no longer mention that the person need to be Bipolar.
I found I didn't have the organization to do much but watch TV.
On Seroquel eXtended Relief I
sleep at Night

Sleeping at night has been an ongoing MS problem for me, long before I became
overly upset over little things that would have never have bothered me before. I would go into a yelling rage.
Years later I had racing thoughts and periods of
not sleeping. I know you know the signs of being Bipolar Sally, but my MS Specialist's nurse says she sees many MS patients turn Bipolar. She did go on to say there is no study to prove this.
I would have
NEVER attributed my depressive symptoms, lifted immediately by Seroquel XR, as such. I'm back in the kitchen cooking; something I
thought changed over a decade ago due to my
MS.
I'm enjoying life again. I feel like a 18 year old just graduating and ready to take the world head on. I still must pace myself, but I have a totally different outlook.
They say to add Seroquel XR with an antidepressant you are currently taking.
I would tell your friend of my positive experience with this medication Sally.
IMO, it too should be prescribed to MS patients who have depression for I feel they would be pleasantly surprised how it improves their life.
I used to take Klonopin to help me sleep due to my MS. I'm now
completely off this drug and just sleeping like a baby on Seroquel XR at night.
Seroquel XR does not make me feel sleepy or dopey the next day. Instead, I'm ready and willing to take on projects (within reason).
