That was my first skin test ever. It was three months after I started feeling the PN symptoms coming back. It seems to be slowly progressing since then. Pretty scary. I am on Neurontin- 1200 mgs. a day. It helps some with the shooting pain but not with the hypersensitivity to touch (allodynia).

I actually think my symptoms are originally caused by an adverse reaction to Skelaxin (a CNS depressant prescribed for neck pain) back in 2002. It caused a hallucination and a long seizure that nobody was able to stop (because I was by myself at the time). I think it damaged some nerves. That is why I am not so concerned about finding a cause because I really think that it what did it. Drugs reactions can be so awful! I did report this to the FDA.

I'm still going to be checked for diabetes soon, though.

Metanx is a prescription vitamin supplement. Apparently, it may take up to 4 months to take effect.
