I had viral pericarditis which has some crossover with pleurodynia. I was 24 and the worst part about it was the enforced six week bed rest, quite a lot of which time i was sedated because I wouldn't stay in bed! Also caused by the coxsackie virus - had a horrible achy chest, and inability to laugh without sharp pain, and what my aunt described as an 'odd dry cough'. The night after I was discharged I went out and danced till 4am!

Was wondering what about pleurodynia exactly made you ask this question?
