The Candida may work its way UP from below....reflux while you are sleeping, it the most common cause.
Candida is insidious. It can cause reactions all over the body.
When really active, it produces aldehydes which cause flushing, burning and pain. (like an Antabuse reaction).
I'd take some Benfotiamine (300mg daily) for a while and see if some of your symptoms abate. This will support the metabolism of the aldehydes and help clear your metabolism up a bit.
The immune system is dependent on zinc intake. If you take drugs that deplete this, like ACE inhibitors for blood pressure, steroids, etc... you may be low in this. Zinc is also needed for
metabolizing alcohol.
Candida may grow like crazy after using oral antibiotics. This is how it gets started. Using a good probiotic and eating yogurt will help.
It is thought that delayed release probiotics are the best, and those with many organisms listed in high amounts are to be chosen. Using these may foster good bacteria in your GI tract which will squeeze the Candida out and prevent it from taking over again.
Most of the sites I've read, claim that the antifungal drugs do not eradicate Candida permanently.
The most successful thing you can do is avoid sugars and simple starches. This starves the Candida and it may go dormant.
