My first job.... still my favorite job I ever had. I stumbled into a training company with my mom (she went to fill out papers), and the lady there asked me if I wanted a job. I said "sure, but I am only 14" that wasn't a problem. I was sent as a temp to the county in a T-Shirt Printing company where we trained people with physical and mental disabilities to be productive citizens. They also had a recycling facility, the t-shirt business, the embroidery business and a mailing center where all fo the county water and tax bills were processed. I worked there every summer until my senior year in high school where I was actually hired on with the company and I was able to work and go to school. Stayed after graduation. Problem was, I had to take a pay cut when I was hired directly and minimum wage just wasn't cutting it when I realized how much it would cost to pay for college.

With my last job (back when I was able to work) I worked for a computer recycling company. I was able to go back to job #1 and help set up a recycling program there and train the employees on computer breakdown. We would send them a pallet of computers to breakdown and they would take care of it for us. Granted, our own guys processed about 70 pallets a day so the one pallet a month wasn't a lot, but it was nice to bring them in on it and to be able to give them work. Actually, it was when I was first dx'd and I found out one of the trainer's wife had just been dx'd with PPMS.

And it was during this time I had my first car... 1978 old cutlass supreme. I graduated high school in 98. The car was older than me. It was a gas guzzling hog. The radio was one of those metal push button doo dads that would change the station on it's own whenever it felt like it. The cigarrette lighter would randomly shoot out at people as you drove. The car was possessed. Man am I glad gas was less than $1.00 a gallon back then. I remember gas going over a dollar and how it took almost my whole paycheck to put gas in the car.
