I am so confused. I can't even think of a reply. Since the change from analog to digital, my VCR has done all kinds of things. At first, we could record if we were watching that same channel... Big advantage! Now, if I try, the Cable takes over to record and I have no control of the TV. Also, I have no freaking idea where (or if) the Cable recorded anything.
