I'm not on Social Security, I'm on disability through CSRS (Civil Service). My husband is on Social Security. If anything happened to him, I would NOT receive any of his Social Security benefit.

I didn't get a COLA either, and two of my insurances (life and hospital) went up. I have about enough money set aside to replace my appliances when they give out. If one more thing goes up, we decide between internet and satellite tv.

We aren't really worried about 2037 (for ourselves, that is). In 2037, he would be 101. Our long term plan is to croak.
