Default As one who 'had' cancer and has severe PN?

The answer is to simply be more DILIGENT in getting your regular annual exams done!
In my case? The neuropathy appeared before the cancer or the auto-I thyroid. First Neuropathy, 6months later- the thyroid, 18months after the neuropathy- the cancer was found. After I was diagnosed with both AI thyroid and AI neuropathy. BTW? Many cancers can be developing, and never test positive for for 5-8 years before they are found.
Tho I was tested EXTENSIVELY, no particular tests were done for cancers, per-se at the time my AI neuropathy was diagnosed and then treated. It was after the cancer was detected, that my thryroid was actually determined to be AI rather than just malfunctioning. Tests for any of these issues can be not only expensive, but exhorbitant! And docs will only order the tests THEY CAN CLINICALLY JUSTIFY! So, just be super DILIGENT in the future and DON'T WORRY about such issues until they 'might' appear! Better to be forewarned and careful [similar to walking on thin ice?] than to just go forward blythely.
Also remember that the STATISTICAL ODDS of one getting one, two, three or more immune conditions? ARE EXTRAORDINARY! And thus? Quite rare.
I admit, I am an anomoly. But, I was lucky that in being diligent to my general medical care and with a regular annual visit to ALL of my specialists? I'm ahead of the game!
THIS spring I'll hit year FIVE in beating my cancer! AND Year EIGHT in 'maintaining' my immune thyroid and neuropathies! I LIKE 'maintenance'!
You can either be paranoid or simply proactive. I prefer proactive! Takes less energy! 's - j
