Confused More nausea, burning sensation, feeling 'not right'

Hello All,

I am posting on behalf of my wife, who had decompression with dural patch in 2002. Since the surgery, she has always had symptoms, but until recently ( a few months) has been able to mitigate them with pain meds and lifestyle changes. Now, she is having more severe headaches, nausea, and is much more sensitive to things that bothered her in the past... jarring, noise, raising arms over her head, tilting head up, etc. Today she is having a bad day, and also complaining of a burning sensation in the area of the surgery. We made a doctor's appointment to get he checked out, but it is 3 days off. I am worried that she may have an infection or some other strange problem, perhaps a re-herniation... who knows? She is having more and more pronounced symptoms in the last 2 weeks or so then ever, even before her surgery, and i don't know what to do! The doctor said to take her to the emergency room if things get really bad, but I am frightened.... What to do? Should I take her to the ER or just wait? Does anyone have any experience?
