Wink Surprise! Look what the cat dragged in. LOL

Ada,
Hey Sweetie. I hope that you are doing Ok? I haven't been posting, but I have been lurking some what. SO many New folks....

But, about Flexeril, I used to use it many moons ago. It worked pretty well for me for a while. No, it didn't get rid of all of my muscle spasms and what not, but then we all know that NOTHING will get rid of all of the pain and stuff we have going on. I wouldn't want to try to take enough meds to do that, as I would wind up drugged out of my gourd, you know?

But, the Flexeril...it worked pretty well for a while. Then, it didn't. But that is me, I have that weird tolerance thing for lots of meds. About the only thing that I haven't had that problem with is my pain meds, but I have been very careful to take only what I think that I need, which is usually always less than the dose prescribed. I am lucky though, that my dose is one that allows me to do that.

I know that you have troubles with meds too...but it is usually that you can't tolerate them, not that you wind up getting a tolerance built up to them quickly...right? So, Flexeril might work very well for you. I can't remember, because it has been so long since I took it now, if it is a med that doesn't have many interaction problems, or that has lots of intolerance troubles. I don't think it is.

I hope that it works well for you, and for a long time. I know how hard it is to try to find things that work and don't cause troubles, or to have to change meds lots of times trying to find ones that DO work well for us. Lord knows you have had more than your fair share of those kinds of problems.

I did take Robaxin for a while after the Flexeril. It bothered my stomach, and so I stopped it. It worked well, but I couldn't stand the stomach troubles. It is still what they give me in IV form when I have my procdures done, it works very well for me that way. LOL, of course, they also does me up with tummy calming meds too. Now I take Zanaflex, and have for a few years now. I take it like I do my pain meds, only how much I need, even if it is less than prescribed. I just don't like having to change meds all the time because of building up tolerances to them. I would rather deal with a little more pain, than to try to get myself all drugged up and stupid feeling trying to not have ANY pain (a thing that just IS NOT going to happen, no matter what. As I know you know. Stupid Neurontin, and how the docs went whacky prescribing that, and how it made me feel more drugged up and stupid than ANY Narcotic I have ever taken helped to teach me that lesson very early on), or building up my tolerance to a med super fast and having to go through numerous med changes.

I hope that you are doing better? I think of you often, and add you into my prayers every night. I have been worried about how all of that snow you all have been getting there in CO has affected you, pain level wise. I just don't know what I would do if I had to be around all of that snow and cold! I wouldn't be able to move at all, but then I know that I am a Lizard Woman. That is why I am going to be moving back out West soon. Meghan has graduated High School and started Cosmetology School this past yearand is the best in her classes (so the teacher keeps saying!)...AND gotten engaged! Can you believe that? I still can't. Nothing is going to happen with her and her beau until sometime next year, when she is closer to getting certified. You should see the Ring! WOWIE! That is all I can say about that. LOL. Jay is graduating this year, and has been accepted to the U of A here...but ALSO to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University out in Prescott, AZ. That is a private school that is all about aviation and aeronautics and whatnot. It is a pretty big deal to get accepted there. They have two campuses, one there in Prescott, and one down in Daytona Beach, FL. The Prescott campus offered more of the classes that he wants, is interested in, and needs to be a pilot (Yes..he still wants to join the Air Force and be a pilot for them when he graduates. That is what he ALWAYS has wanted to do, ever since he was just a little small fella, LOL). I am glad that is the case, because he will be much closer to all of my family out there in AZ and NV. It is only 260 miles away from Vegas where my folks live. In fact, he is going to be going there to see them, and then for them to go down with him to make a visit to the Embry-Riddle campus in just a couple of weeks. I am SOOO Proud! So proud of BOTH of the kids!

Ok..I wound up talking about more than just Flexeril here, but I just had to brag a little and catch you up on what all has been going on around here. Once the kids are doing what they are going to be doing, I am flying the coop and heading back "Home" out West. I can't WAIT! LOL, that is the line of thought I was going on, when I got side tracked about bragging about my kids. LOL..took me that long to remember where I had been going with all of that!

Ok, I am going to end this here now. I really do hope that you are doing ok. I really do think about you, and worry about you all the time. You are a super special person...such a sweetie, and you have been through so much! You are just awesome, Ada. I hope you know that.

Love and ((Hugs))
Jose
