the week behind leaves another ahead
each day anew once i rise from my bed
my eyes will open and look forward to see
the beauty that God is extending to me

i learned a few lessons as my feet found
camaflouged holes deep in the ground
my learned vocabulary did not suffice
His words are what I need for advice

i come back here as circles complete
as again i am finding myself in retreat
to climb the mountain pd has created
i must lighten up what now is weighted

instead of worries blocking my way
the joy of life will fill my day
for pd is only a temporary thing
my soul forever belongs to my King
