Sorry to hear it wasn't for you, David. Thinking back, I
NEVER got a job I applied for. Not once! It was still worth going, however, because somebody was in the room who remembered me and either hired me or referred me to someone else. Strange how that works ... but it does. Hopefully, you'll experience The Grapevine Effect. (Make that Affect if you're bored and want to crank up a grammar dispute).
