Tyson, My neck has a very hard time with simple activity given how weak it is. Just gather some laundry a few pieces here and there including some low, on floor or chair or bed that has my head down looking as I do it can end up iwth me in pain from moderate to severe. I now frequently go to bed with a cold pack (gel) from freezer on back of neck-head. It helps and feels good. I have scoliosis with a big curve in spine that causes a mild S shape. I think this may be a factor in why I get this 'ball' of pain in my left back about 4 inches up from waist when I have been on feet for too long. I call it my sit down pain.
I find that hitting pain/inflammation reducing foods like a good quality pineapple juice like Lakewood sure helps take down the pain. On the other hand foods that increase inflammation like peppers and potatoes make it worse. These foods would be listed esp under recommendations for people with arthritis. I just find it is true for me as well tho I dont have it.
I love gel packs!! But sometimes a muscle can get a knot in it for me and I have a real nice Chiropractor that I used to use. Cant really get to him now. I also find that a massage thereapist who knows how to release muscles can help too. With my current budget its pain meds and pineapple juice.
