OMG, I have something similar!
I was just looking for some forums where I can ask about some of my bizzaro symptoms and I found your post. See if this sounds similar to what your fiance suffers with:
My legs get warm at night. Not burning and not hot to the touch, but from the knees down, I feel like its 120 degrees in the room and I can't get comfortable. When I go to bed, they are typically okay at first, but 1-2 hours later I wake up with them feeling warm. I move them to a new spot on the sheets and they feel cooler for about 15 seconds, then they feel warm again and I move them again, add nausium. Eventually I give up and get out of bed and read a book for 20-40 minutes, then I can go back to bed.
I've been taking gabapentin (neurontin) for 4 years, once a day, just before bedtime, and it does help me. I see a neurologist and I am diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy AND RLS, but I'm not sure this is actually RLS, but it is similar in some ways.
