This reminds me of stim. therapy, brushing used for sensory integration often with autistic children. Some PTs use it but it has never been "proved". In my work with Autistic children I have seen it only requested once by a parent, not a "professional". I honestly don't know the validity of this technique and look forward to reading more.
I have done brushing as requested but was not a consistent good provider of technique as I did not fully believe in it. Perhaps it helps to a degree but feel it's more complicated than that.
