I am on my 3rd round of 20 visits physical therapy. I still tire easily, and can not use my are to the fullest. I lay on a heating pad 24/7. I am still on my muscle relaxers and pain meds. They say I am doing good, but when does it seem that way to me. I hope anyone thinking of this surgery considers it as the last resort. I had undergone a spinal disc ectomy and fusion less than a year prior to the TOS surgery that was thought to be the orginial problem it was that neuro that referred me to the TOS specialist. I dont know if it was worth it yet or not, they are telling me at least a year or more recovery. Okay enough of me, i just hope this helps someone else get all the opinions you need before deciding on this surgery.
I am 6 weeks out post op scalenechtomy, rib resection, pec minor clipping....Just so you do not feel alone...this has been a horrendous recovery. I am definitely not to the point of knowing exactly the results, but can't imagine it being this bad eventually. Numbness to chest, side of face, arm, hand, incisions are very painful tingling to arm and hand with extreme shocking pain. I also have winging and have been told that the recovery is so much more difficult with this anomaly. I am a nurse and can't imagine being at a place to go back to what I did. Catching a falling patient is how TOS began to begin with. I wish you the best of luck and would like to hear how you are doing at this point...
