Thumbs up Cheers once again for Joan Blessington Snyder

CD captures 'Voices from the Dreams We Share'

Music written and performed by those touched by Parkinson's disease

Journal Star, Posted Mar 09, 2011 @ 11:13 PM

"Voices from the Dreams We Share" will be released at a party March 18 at the Cornerstone Building, 321 NE Madison Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m.

"Parkinson's disease affects every person that the person with Parkinson's disease comes in contact with," said Snyder of Chillicothe, founder of Central Illinois Advocates for Lives Interrupted by Parkinson's Support Organization. "I think that it is important for people with Parkinson's to realize that Parkinson's is not a death sentence but a life sentence. It involves changes in attitude, changes in the way you do everyday things. I'm here to tell them that anything is possible."

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, with proceeds going to Parkinson's research. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Contemporary Art Center; Moondancer; Illinois Antique Center or by calling 579-3026.
