Most of the macular degeneration formulas have zinc in them.

If you do not take a vitamin with zinc, it would be a good idea to add that to your list. The best one out there is OptiZinc, if you have to buy one. Or you can get the full formula called Preservision.

When I had my stroke in my retina, I had some aching too.
But it did not last long.

I'd report to the specialist about the pain lasting this long, as typically it does not.

Edit to add:
Say, are you still taking that quinine? If so, did you tell your retinal doctor? Quinine can cause retinal damage over time. I hope this is not the case for you.
