Default Hi Shaylnn

The joint pain was so bad I ended up taking the dreaded tramadol and now I can't sleep.

http://www.hypermobility.org/beighton.php

The above link gives you the beighton score, anything over 4 is now considered EDS / BJHS "normal " people should only be able to score two out of nine. I score 7/9 but thats only because I am not sure about my elbows! LOL.

This website also goes into the revised criteria but heres the link anyway in case you have problems

This next link is for the UK site for EDS, it has great down loads on there, too big to print out but you can select relevant parts.

I know what you mean about anesthetic, it took 11 injections on a dead tooth before I could have root canal work done (ended up having the tooth pulled anyway in the end) once the work was completed promptly got up and fainted!

The toe nail was the worst as it had a ring block and two vials of local injected, felt every single thing. Same again when I had a lumbar puncture.

Osteo arthritis is a complication of EDS due to the additional wear and tear on the joints.

Do you have a mouthful of fillings? Another issue with EDS is you have deep crevices in your teeth as the top of the crevice is narrow so you can't clean them properly. If it had been picked up when I was a kid I could have had my teeth sealed and prevented every tooth (molar) having a filling.

There are also EDS groups on facebook and there is also a POTS Uk page on facebook.

I hope this info helps you.
