Doydie, if you can hold off on the mattress for a little bit, I would recommend waiting until the next holiday. My fiance is a manager for mattress warehouse and I know during the holiday sales they have some amazing deals. Also if you are looking to upgrade in size the showroom beds are usually a queen size and a lot of times they can sell you the floor models for much less.
Also never agree with the price on the bed. Apparently it is a negotiating trade...who knew? but usually they can go up to 40% off of the ticket price, you just have to haggle.
I don't know about the insurance covering it, I do know I cannot get my insurance to cover lidoderm patches but they gladly cover a morphine prescription. Makes no sense.
