Has anybody had a Physical Therapist who does "myofacial release"?
Mine does and is able to get the spasming neck muscles to let go so the neck can heal. It can be painful as she "makes the muscle an offer it can't refuse". In other words, she uses pressure points to fatigue the nervous response that is causing the spams. The muscles finally get relief (release) from the spasm. In most cases, the pain is momentary. The muscle usually gives in quite quickly.
The technique is not widely used by PT's. You need to investigate to find a PT who does it. Even more trial and error to find one who is good at it.
There are also PTs and such how can use massage to get the muscles to release. Either one is hard to find and great to keep.
