Hi Webster,

It is common for the first week or two, to have an unpleasant odor from the mouth and nose after any tooth extraction. The smell is caused by the open surgical site. However, if your son had a sinus exposure or even a near sinus exposure occur during the extraction of his tooth... and the odor is getting progressively worse, then he should be checked by the dentist and an xray of that area could be helpful in diagnosing that.

Did he see the dentist recently....was there an xray taken?
