The stronger stuff is called Pennsaid. Both Voltaren and Pennsaid contain diclonefac, which is (I believe) the equivalent of Motrin. A tube of Voltaren is only $30 or so, hopefully WC won't hassle you too much over that kind of money.

My PM doc told me that Pennsaid is usually written for knees.

I love Voltaren for my head pain, I part my hair, which is short, and rub it on all over. i also use it on my forehead and my neck. I tend to use patches elsewhere (and remove them in a warm shower).
