Montgomery Clift was the same basically as Howard Hughes. He was in that car accident while making the movie Raintree County and Elizabeth Taylor went to the scene and dug a tooth out of his tongue because he was choking to death.

They say he never recovered mentally or physically and suffered with pain until he died at the age of 45. He was very good looking and the change in his face was big after the accident.

They say he also had a thyroid problem that was diagnosed too late that made him look like he was drunk or on drugs at times when he wasn't but he did get addicted to drugs due to the pain.

I remember him in westerns moreso then other movies. He and Howard Hughes sounded a lot alike in their life after the accidents. After listening to them tell his story and reading about him, it sure sounded like RSD to me.
