Thanks to Mrs. D and Michael for your response to my namenda question. I read all the articles you both recommended. Doesn't look too hopeful. I was especially interested to learn that it was in the same category as Ketamine (I think someone said that). Anyway, I already have taken high doses of ketamine nose spray and ketmaine mouth drops with no pain relief. Thus the namenda will probably not work. I've been on 20 mg. for a few days now. I see most of the studies used 30 mgs. I'll check with my dr. to up the dosage.
As always I am most appreciative of your quick responses to my questions. I am a retired professional who loved research and am going crazy that I cannot solve this chronic pain situation. I research like crazy and have tried so many drugs and treatments. Unfortunately, most of the treatments actually have made me worse and created more problems. Even taking that chloral hydrate for sleep - I now get about 20 injections in my face every week to try to stop the burning pain in my lips, gums, mouth, and aching teeth. They were helping for a few weeks but not as much with this last treatment. Apparently the C H triggered off neuropathic pain in my mouth. My nervous system is really miswired or else the CH was NOT CH -but an incorrect drug. I may get it tested - $300 ??????
Thanks for your help on the namenda - sorry for the rambling. I am just so frustrated that I cannot find pain relief. I could never imagine that this chronic pain syndrome would happen to me. (especially in my lower back which affects my ability to walk). I was a very active person and now am housebound.
