well i figured the day would come. and i did hope, and still do, though am by no means convinced, that this event will quieten things down in the world in the not too long run...
i cannot bring myself to dance on a dead man's grave
white europeans on religious (Christian) crusades
- exterminated all of the native races in the caribbean,
- most of the native cultures in the americas,
- enslaved people unlike themselves, forcing them to live, serve, (and many to die) in deplorable, painful, sickly, disgraceful, inhumane, even sadistic conditions.
so may i ask of everyone a brief moment of reflection and humility in all this. hatred and death in our world was not born of Islam, nor did it originate from this now dead-and-defaced man dumped into the sea. and remember, for all that man brought about, he did not do it alone, could not have.
history has only repeated itself one more time.
All of this has happened before, and will happen again.
