best long-term predictor of happiness....
I just saw a segment on happiness on CBS Sunday morning news. It said the one thing that was the best predictor of long-term happiness was social connections. Like having friends or family you enjoy and can spend time with, co-workers that you get along with, or other social situations you can be involved in such as church, volunteering, clubs, etc. Human beings are not meant to be alone, like so many other animals on the planet!
I also think exercise is wonderful for depression, as it causes your body to release endorphins, which make you feel better, happier & more relaxed.
And don't expose yourself to a lot of negativity from other people or the media. I think negative people/news/television/music has a negative energy that will eventually bring you down if you expose yourself to it enough.
