We bought a new car a few months ago and they offered us all sorts of extras too, at additional cost. Our salesman was really good though. He said he had to ask about the extras but suggested that if there was anything we particularly wanted, then to wait a bit and get them added at a speciality place where it would be heaps cheaper.
The only extra we decided on was having a tow bar fitted so hubby can tow a trailor. It was going to cost $1200 to have it factory fitted, and it's costing us $500 at a local dealership.
When you pick up your car you'll see in the manual that many of the things they suggest you add are actually already there, just to a lessor extent.
