Hi, thanks. I hit my head on a low hanging utility box (I'm 5'7") that was located on the sidewalk as I was carrying lunch back to my work. It hit me in the right side of my head maybe an inch diagonal back from my temple. It caught me completely by surprise. I iced it and waited hoping to not have a concussion, but had a horrible headache and was nauseous. I went to the ER the next day and had a CT scan, which was negative. I was given meds, told to follow-up with a neurologist, and stay home from work for a week. A week later still felt awful, headache, blurred vision, difficulty thinking straight, confusion, dizziness, nausea, etc. Between feeling these things and sitting home....I cried a lot. I went back to work the next week for 1/2 days, made it through Monday, felt horrible, and woke up Tuesday, called out of work and went back to the ER. I wanted an MRI, but the hospital could only to CT scans. I repeated the CT scan, which was negative again. I called a ton of neurologists who all had appointments weeks and months away...and took the appointment from whomever could see me first. Although I described my history, the neurologist offered more meds and sent me for blood work to rule out other neurological things. Seemed weird to me...hit my head and now I feel horrible....anyway....the injury was last April 24. I did have MRIs (brain and neck with and without contrast) this winter, which were negative. I still feel really crummy. I don't like to take meds, so I am not taking anything right now. I am going to vestibular rehab (my idea) and just went to an ENT Friday. Had more testing and I was positive for Meniere's Disease. I am just stressed out, upset, frustrated, etc. ENT Dr prescribed Maxzide, which I will start tomorrow..... so that's a quick version of what's going on. Just sucks....I feel like I am on a spinny ride and they won't let me off. It's having such an impact on my entire life and relationships...and it's making me so depressed.... wow, bet I told you more than you wanted to know Thanks.
