Confused Hello I am new here

Hello ,I am a 64 year old who initially went to Doctor for pain in right leg below the knee , My Doctor thought I may have a pinched nerve , I also was unsteady walking and have fallen several times
I was just diagnosed and was wondering if anyone could help me understand the report.
It says Nerve Conduction are showing the presence of a sensorimotor peripheral Neuropathy involving the bilateral lower extremities. This is a predominantly axomnal loss neuropathy ,with features of demyelination as well .
It also says the physical examination showed intrinsic foot muscle wasting bilatererally
I really dont understand all this at all. I am being sent to a neurolagist to see if he can determine what the cause is , I am not diabetic but my regular doctor says I am pre diabetic .
Any help in understanding the diagnosis will be very much appreciated
Thank you
