Default Issue with dysphagia after ACDF

I had an ACDF at C4/C5 over one year ago. The Nuerosurgeon tore a hole in my Pharynx using the device that spreads my throat and muscles out of the way for the disc repalcement. It was not detected and I was sent to postop. There my wife noticed that my neck was swelling in proportion to my breathing. I was rushed back to surgery where the tear was patched. Unfortunately I wound up on a feeding tube for several months and still have difficulty swallowing.

I recently had a modified barium swallow eval where it was noted that the epiglautis movement appeared to be restricted by the metal plate. The epiglautis will not invert fully to cover my airway.

I have researched everywhere and cannot find anyone who has ever had this happen. If any professionals are reading this could you please reply back.

Thank You in Advance!
