many printers do "economical" mode and in gray scale, and that is how we save on ink. You can save a bundle that way.
No one cares about coupon perfection...just so the bar code is readable.
I want a good scanner and fax...and you can get a good HP for about 100 bucks with all that.
You don't need the other bells and whistles now..computer bit, ultra photo bit...etc. The economical printing is what we use most and find most useful.
Check Tiger direct and Overstock.com for deals, and also WalMart. WalMart has surprisingly low prices...probably connected to Sam's inventory. Around here we get our printers at Costco or Sam's Club. I recall paying 30 bucks for a simple Lexmark once (no scanner/fax.).
