Slumber Still

Blessed sleep has taken me
at time and time again
as we restore the energy
expended on roadways' rain.
I realize as strength renews
depletion's weary sign
is warning of too much been used
the time for rest divine.
Replenishment comes when we are still
and take to sleep fulfilled
by each and every wink caught fill
our body energy captured, refilled.
Thus, blessed am I to know this rest
has given strength anew
to take on life with freshened zest
to talk with friends like YOU.
