Default Well, yes and no? It's for some neuropathies...

but, mostly of the 'autoimmune' type. Getting diagnosed can be a lifetime challenge at times.
Here are the clinical trials active and recent from the NIH for Peripheral Neuropathies:

The following is a list of the clinical trials from NIH for an autoimmune PN called CIDP:

Trial #10 is likely what you are hearing about. The eligibility requirements are strict, and insurance approval plus out of pocket costs aren't cheap. I do know of several people who are going through it or have successfully completed this process. But it can come with risks? You mite not be eligible or meet all of the criteria.
Remember that Neuropathies can be either Toxic, inherited or acquired autoimmune reactions. Please look into these sites and let us know where you are 'fitting' for now. And, please keep us up to date on your progress?
Good luck and don't give up hope. Seems like your dermatologist is more up to date than many other docs! Tho optimistic as to availability to one and all tho.
Keep working on it! 's!!!!! - j
