Default "Turn off the tech to get a good night's sleep"

This may seem a strange post here on TS forum, but I just read an article posted in the news forum here and it really reminds me how important it was for my children to have a down time on their way to sleep. Low lights, and calming environment etc..

They're grown up now, but gosh, with study loads and exams and research, so much done via internet including previous lectures loaded online, sleep is still a problem.

We all need a good night sleep and if we're feeling over stimulated before going to bed and especially if we're an "overthinker" it's so much more difficult to get that chatter out of our heads.

Relaxation exercizes can help. Yoga especially.

Anyway, here's the article I read...

Turn off the tech to get a good night's sleep

One obvious solution is ramping down technology use 30 minutes to an hour or so before bedtime.

Turn off the cellphone, TV and video games, and get off the Internet.

"Create some sort of regimen to prepare yourself to go to bed," said Dan Pankiewicz, director of the Indiana Sleep Center in Greenwood. "You need time to rest, relax and purge some of the sensory input."

He suggests listening to relaxing music, taking a warm bath, reading a pleasurable book -- anything that's soothing, not bright, loud or stimulant-filled.
