I went for my scheduled SLU from the WC IC this morning. The doctor who did the exam on my hands did not have me do any pinch grips or strength grips.

I have had 10 surgeries between both hands and currently being treated for RSD.
the surgeries include: LEFT hand:Carpal tunnel, DeQuervain's, basal joint replacement, MCP fusion, IP fusion, hardware removal. RIGHT hand: Carpal tunnel, trigger thumb, basal joint replacement, IP fusion.
My hands burn and tingle all of the time and he knew this but he still had to touch them for the exam.

I am not sure how he is going to rate the loss of use with out measurements. He had me move my thumbs around the best I could (which was not much at all) and had me close the rest of my fingers as if to make a fist. Before the physical exam we sat in his office and went over the surgeries and treatments and where I was today as far as limitations on what I could do and where my pain level was at. But as to the rest, I am more nervous than I was before going to see him.
Does anybody know what to make of this kind of SLU exam? Is this normal, it is my first time for an SLU exam.
