Lady, your story mirrors my own mother's. Married at 20 during the 'hippie days', she never drank more than 1 glass of wine in a sitting, and never smoked a thing (or ate anything with marijuana - for that matter).

I came 'clean' to Mom soon after my diagnosis with MS and admitted that I had smoked pot as a teenager, and in my early 20s. She wasn't surprised, or mad, and it was actually Mom who encouraged me to talk to my neurologist about getting a prescription for marijuana after she had read Montel William's book (soon after she learned I had MS).

Mom is still pro-pot today, as is (thankfully) my family and extended family as a whole. A distant relative is SPMS (he actually traveled abroad for CCSVI - I'm not sure how he's doing after the fact though) but he also medicates with medical marijuana and that's the 1 thing that's helped him (in pain and bedridden).
