Methylcobalamin is the preferred choice to take today for B12 supplementation. It is inexpensive and available orally.
Many people on this forum take it, including me.

Easily available online for pennies a day. Less common in local stores still. iherb.com, vitacost.com and Puritan's Pride have it.
