It used to be advocated that diabetics use fructose to replace sucrose in food/baking.

Now the safety of that recommendation is being questioned:

Okay, watched a great deal of that video on youtube. From what I understand kids are eating more after drinking a whole can of sweetened soda. Fructose is low glycemic and because it's low glycemic, it doesn't release leptin which tells you that you are not hungry.

Here's my thought on this. I thought I might use one tsp a day to sweeten my morning coffee. So two cups of coffee equals one teaspoon a day of Fructose. I don't eat any other sugar. I don't use splenda and this would replace stevia.

I did bake one item with this product and it came out fine. But if it's dangerous, then of course I won't bake with it.

I don't drink any soda, I don't use sugar in any form. My sugar reading this morning was 97 and my usual post prandials are 117, so my sprouting is definitely saving my life.

So am I to understand that even at my age, this small amount of fructose that I was thinking of using, well, it's that bad??

Would you use it? What do you use as a sweetner?

Thanks much Mrs. D.
