My husband had GERD, and it can be dangerous if left untreated. Please see your doctor about this --- don't let it go on too long. You may need medication to keep it under control, if you aren't taking something already. If you are taking meds, perhaps they need changing.

I can't see where your surgery would cause it, but I'm no doctor either -- stranger things have happened.
