Yes, Ambien and Lunesta (less so far) have been implicated in
amnesiac behavior.
There was last year a teen in Idaho who killed her parents, and had
Ambien as part of her defense. (it didn't work, and she was convicted).
And one does not need alcohol for these effects either. There have been
reports of amnesiac eating in the night also from Ambien.
