Hi Rhian,

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time right now. I found out that nutra sweet (aspartame) can lead to seizures for a person. I used to drink diet soda and then my complex partial, simple partial, and absence (petit mal) seizures began to increase like crazy. I went to see my Epileptologist and I found out that nutra sweet causes more electrical activity in the brain and can lead to seizures for some people.

If I may ask what AED's (anti epileptic drugs) are you taking for your seizures? The reason why I'm asking is because I have been taking mysoline (primidone) for over 30 yrs. and I had the same problem as you having to rush to the restroom along with stomach pain. I found out that it was the mysoline that ate up the lining of my intestines that caused this and I was put on a low fat diet and I could only drink plain tea, ginger ale, and water along with eating vegetables and foods low in fat. I was also told to drink cranberry juice. I had to see a gastro Dr. and have tests done to find all this out and this could be what's going on with you.

Try taking vitamin B12 to help reduce your seizures and take some zinc to strengthen you immune system. This has helped me a lot and the B12 will help cut back on the pain you feel in your legs just be sure to take 1000 mcg. once a day and cut back on caffeine also.

If you can go to an Epilepsy Center which are often at University Hopsitals and see an Epileptologist. They can help you with both your epilepsy as well as your neuropathy problems. Take my word they are further ahead than neurologists and they give you less meds to take.

I wish you the best of luck and keep me posted if you don't mind on how things are going for you. May God Bless You!

Sue
