You can discuss most of those things without it getting political or biased.
The difficulty arises when certain political parties or members of such, or the president starts to get blamed personally. Some members may agree on something, but others might have a totally differing viewpoint - that's when the issues arise.
We've been through all this and have seen the problems come up many times, so we just prefer very limited discussion on Politics for peace & harmony on the main pages of the site.
We do have the Social Group sections available where there is a more open format for deeper discussion. We suggested using it during the last election and it worked well.
