Discussing politics is not the problem as much as getting into partisan arguments. We don't have rules saying NO POLITICS!, only that the discussion should be very *limited*. So you can still discuss the issues without disrespecting any specific politician or party.

During the 08 elections, we relaxed the rules for a while and there were battles on many forums where those who are usually friends were going for each other and our inbox full of reported posts for flaming etc.

So again, discussing the politics of the issue is not prohibited....it is becoming *partisan*, disrespecting a specific politician or party, or potentially starting a political argument that is not ok
