Received awards letter from Social Security stating monthly benefit amounts and saying will receive first monthly check August 3, 2011. Received Red, white and blue Medicare card. Onset date January 10, 2008. Waiting for back pay. Have direct deposit can anyone tell me when I will receive back pay. Went to interview at local office and was told I was in pay status what does that exactly mean? I did not receive SSI nor did I have an Attorney I represented myself.
I may be wrong but, Medicare is for people 65 or older and regular Social Security checks are issued the 3rd of the month and SSDI on the 1st of the month. I'm assuming your back pay is for a claim you filed before you turned 65, correct?
