Hi redloui,

I've had an e.e.g. MRI, FMRI, and veeg (video e.e.g.) along with a CT scan which showed the most detail. I've also had a PET scan, Spect scan, angiogram, and wada test done.

What my Epileptologist did was admit me into the hosptial for about 1 wk. and he had all the testing set up ahead of time this way I didn't have to keep going back and forth to the hospital and it saved me money in the long run.
The e.e.g and veeg showed a lot of detail but when I had the veeg they did surgery on me and put the depth electrodes (7 of them) directly on my brain and this picked up the most detail. Many people don't have to have this type of veeg but my Epi found damage deep in my brain that was hard to pick up on the other tests.

I've found going to an Epilepsy Center which are at big hopsitals or university hospitals and dealing with an Epileptologist (Dr. specializing in epilepsy) the best thing I have done in the past because the neuros. I saw didn't know as much as the Epi and the Epi had me on fewer AED's (sz. meds)

If I may ask what type of sz. does your partner have? The type of sz. or the cause of the sz. can also make a difference in the type of tests the Dr. will want to do. Here's wishing you and your parnter only the best and May God Bless You Both!

Sue
